Breaking News: I poisoned my two weeks old stepson because of the hatred I have for my husband and his mum- 17 year old housewife in Bauchi confesses

The Bauchi state police command Wednesday paraded 17-year-old housewife, Hindatu Abdullahi pictured above, who poisoned her two weeks old stepson, because of the deep hatred she had for her husband, Abdullahi Ori, and the boy's mother who is her husband's first wife. The suspect who hails from Wuro Bogga village in Duguri District of Alkaleri Local Government Area of the state, said she was forced into marrying her husband two years ago.
“My husband and I have been married for two years now and we have a child. He married me as his second wife. He used to love me dearly, but he suddenly started maltreating me. He would beat me, insult me and abuse me at the slightest provocation. I reported his maltreatment to my parents all the time, but they have never believed what I told them, since it was their idea for me to marry him. My father forced me to marry him, against my wish. I have been staying in my husband’s house just because of my parents. I have not been in good terms with my husband and my rival. We are always fighting. I don’t know why I did what I did, but I regret it. Whatever punishment that will be given to me should be done, but every time I remember my action, I keep regretting doing what I did"
The suspect said she sneaked into the room of her co-wife when she stepped out and tried administering a poisonous substance on the child but the baby refused to take the substance. The substance however poured on the child.
“I quickly removed his clothes and cleaned the poison with it. I became very confused, realising what I had done,” she said
Abdullahi added that the baby was then rushed to the hospital and the nurse said the baby did not swallow the poison. She said her husband who is in Saudi Arabia for the Hajj was called to be informed about the recent development
“My siblings took me to my co-wife and I apologized to her and she said she has forgiven me; but she left everything to God to judge. They called my husband on phone and told him and he vowed to divorce me when he returns from his pilgrimage,” she added.
She claimed that she was given 80 strokes of the cane after her husband’s brother insisted that she must be punished for committing such a wicked act.
“He took me to a vigilance office in our area and they gave me 80 strokes of the cane besides the tax they placed on my father, which he paid. My husband’s brother said he wasn’t satisfied with the punishment I was given, so he took me to the Police Station at Maina Maji, where I spent two nights before they brought me here” she said.
The Bauchi state command says the suspect would soon be arraigned in court.

Braking News: Kidnap: Evans told me the police asked him to plead guilty otherwise they would kill him- Lawyer allegesy

Yesterday, kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike aka Evans, was arraigned before an Ikeja High Court where he pleaded guilty to the two count charges of conspiracy and kidnapping. His lawyer, Olukoya Ogungbeje, has however alleged that Evans was forced to plead guilty by the police. According to him, Evans told him the police asked him to plead guilty otherwise they would kill him.
In a statement released to newsmen, Ogungbeje said Evans who has been in police detention since his arrest on June 10th, was denied access to his lawyers. He said himself and his other legal team heard of his arraignment via social media as no letter was sent to them notifying them of their client's arraignment.
“It must be noted that our client had been in police custody since 10th of June 2017 till date and his lawyer and family members have been denied access to him. His arraignment was brought to our attention through the social media platform. We rushed to court in a bid to confer with our client before the commencement of proceedings but the Police denied us access to him. We sought for an adjournment to enable us to confer with our client in line with the provisions of Section 36(6) (2) of the Constitution but same was turned down by the court. Moreso, the information/charge sheet was served on us in open court on the same day of arraignment. After the purported guilty plea of our client and the court rose, our client told us clearly that the police told him to plead guilty failing which the police will kill him. This is definitely unconstitutional and we intend to challenge this unconstitutional procedure of hoodwinking, unduly influencing, brainwashing and coercing an accused into entering a guilty plea against his wish and freewill. Our client pointedly told us that being informed now, he will change his ‘police motivated guilty plea’ to ‘not guilty’ at the next adjourned date. It is settled law that plea of guilty must be made voluntarily and devoid of any influence, coercion, and manipulation. We have a responsibility to assist the cause of justice in accordance with the law,” the statement read

This pastor pastor arrested in Calabar for allegedly killing 18 months old baby for ritual

The General Overseer of Royal God’s Commandment Ministry aka “Obot Uboho” (Mount of Deliverance) located at Okon Edak street off Atamunu, Calabar South Local Government Area, was last Friday arrested by the police for allegedly killing an 18 months old baby boy for ritual.
The pastor, a father of four had contracted a young man in the neighbourhood to supply him a child for a spiritual assignment for a fee.
"One of the drug addicts who patronises one of the major drug den at Atamunu was contracted by the pastor to conduct the kidnap exercise so he can be paid for his normal dose of cocaine." reports Calabar Reporters.
According to an eyewitness, on that fateful day, Tuesday, August 22, the parents of the baby realised that their child was missing.
"Unfortunately for the kidnapper, the area vigilante uncovered his identity and was trailed and reported to the Nigerian Police who led the arrest. The kidnapper soon confessed to his crimes having been exposed to a tip of the mob’s anger and that led to the arrest of the pastor."
The suspect took them to the church, where the pastor was seen in a blood stained dress, while the little child was already killed and his inner parts removed. The pastor was almost lynched but for the prompt intervention of the Police. The church was ransacked and its altar desecrated.
Items found in the altar include ladies and men underwear, wooden dolls of men and women tied together with their photographs, photos of persons being padlocked, dresses and shoes supposedly belonging to victims.
Most shockingly was the discovery of a fresh heart still dripping off blood in a vast. An anonymous eye witness accounts said:
"This church, they will drink beer inside the church with all manner of circular music, we knew that this man wasn’t clean but we didn’t have evidence yet to expose him”
The culprits have been remanded in the newly commissioned Uwanse Police Station.

The State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Zaki Ahmed, who spoke with newsmen while parading Peter and 22 other suspects at the State Command in Port Harcourt, explained that the suspect was also in possession of riffles belonging to his gang.
He said, “The Command, in continuation of her onslaught against kidnapping, arrested one Roland Peter, a member of a notorious gang that kidnapped Pastor Samuel Okpara from Edoha Ahoada East LGA in Rivers State on August 15, 2017.
“Pastor Okpara was kidnapped, beheaded and his liver and intestines were used to prepare pepper soup and plantain pottage. He was arrested while preparing the meal for his gang.
“He (Peter) is also alleged to be in possession of the gang’s riffles. The leader of the gang is one Justus (surname unknown), but popularly known as High Tension from Abarikpo in Ahoada LGA. The suspect (Peter) is helping the police in their investigation.”

Rivers Police arrest member of notorious gang who kidnapped pastor, beheaded him, used his liver, intestines to make pepper soup and plantain portage

Police in Rivers State have arrested one Roland Peter, a member of a notorious gang that kidnapped Pastor Samuel Okpara from Edoha, Ahoada LGA of the state on 15th August.
The gang killed Pastor Okpara, beheaded him and used his liver and intestine to cook pepper soup and plantain portage in their camp.
The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, PCP Zaki M. Ahmed disclosed these on Monday, August 28, while parading Peter alongside other suspects at the headquarters.
 Press Briefing
Good afternoon gentle men of the Press.
I am delighted to have you once again to chat with you and present our achievements update to you.
You will recall that on my assumption of duty, I did mention to all and sundry that my vision and mission in the state will be centred on the following objectives.
i) Total War against crime and criminality
ii) Zero Tolerance for corruption
iii) Policing with International best practices
iv) Community partnership in combating crime.
In pursuing these goals, I have sought for cooperation and help from stake-holders within and outside the State, including Members of the Press, both print and Electronic Media alike. Your supports have within the last four months seen the efforts of the command bearing fruits and led to the actualization and reduction of crime to its barest minimum. While the Command was riding on the crest of these successes, particularly with the arrest of notorious cult members who specialize in beheading their rival cult members, the recovery of numerous vehicles snatched from their owners and arrests of notorious kidnappers around the Egbeda, Omudioga and Omerelu axis.
The event however of 19th August, 2017 in which a suspected ritualist, Ifeanyi Chukwu Maxwell Dike, a 200 Level Student of University of Port Harcourt, where one Victoria Chikamzo Mesu was killed and dismembered for alleged ritual purposes, is unfortunate and highly regretted. His arrest and subsequent parade before the Press on Saturday 19th August, 2017 was a clear indication to show-case the immense partnership of the Police and the public in fighting crime. Information of his alleged escape from an IPO in the course of statement taking did not only leave a sour taste in the mouth of the command, but also created a dent in my avowed fight against crime and criminality.
I am totally committed in seeing that the suspect is re-arrested and any person involved regardless of status in aiding the escape of the suspect will be arrested and if found wanton dealt with in accordance with the law.
Consequently, in pursuit of this resolve, one ex-Sergeant Johnbosco Okoroeze who after thorough Investigation was discovered to have carried a premeditated action and aided the escape of the suspect, even before he was taken into custody. The said ex-Sergeant Johnbosco Okoroeze was tried in a Police Orderly Room Trial for which evidence tendered during the Trial revealed that he unilaterally, in a premeditated action released the suspect to run before raising alarm of his escape.
He was accordingly dismissed from the force and charged to Court for
1. Accessory after the fact to murder.
2.  Perverting the course of Justice and
3. Permitting the escape of a murder suspect and has been remanded in prison custody.
In furtherance to pieces of evidence from witnesses and the fleeing suspect himself, some meaningful arrests were made touching on their involvements in the said act of murder (which I can not reveal to you now for fear of jeopardizing our Investigation).
I wish to at this juncture crave your continued support in our fight against crime and criminality as this is the only way in which we can make Rivers State safe for all law abiding citizens. The blame game should be discountenanced and all persons interested in the case should come with one resolve to help the Police in seeing that the suspect is re-arrested and brought to face the full wrath of the law. A handsome reward of N1m has already been pledged as the Command’s commitment in enhancing overwhelming public participation.
We are however close to re-arresting the suspect. And I promise you God willing he will be re-arrested very soon.
2. Similarly, the Command in continuation of her onslaught against kidnapping arrested one Roland Peter, a member of a notorious gang, that kidnapped Pastor Samuel Okpara from Edoha, Ahoada LGA, Rivers State on 15th August, 2017 who was kidnapped, killed and beheaded and whose liver and intestine were used for pepper-soup and plantain portage while cooking in their camp. He is alleged to be in possession of the gang’s riffles, led by one Justus, surname unknown but popularly known as High-Tension from Abarikpo in Ahoada East Local Government Area. He is helping in the Police Investigation.
3. Furthermore, Operatives of SARS in a covert operation arrested Belema Oriasi ‘m’, Michael Eboh ‘m’ and Godspower Isreal ‘m’ who are said to be the gang operating along Ada George Road. Also the Special Anti Robbery Squad arrested Rabiu Mohammed ‘m’, Smart Moses ‘m’, Tony Victory ‘m’, Patrick Job ‘m’, Ndubuisi Odoagi ‘m’, Uchenna Okoro ‘m’, Answer Eze ‘m’, Friday Ichendu ‘m’, Anthony Horfall ‘m’, they are said to be the criminal gang operating along the East West Road. They are helping the Police and will be charged to Court as soon as Investigation is concluded.
